Top 5 Factors to Consider While Integrating SAP SuccessFactors with SAP HCM

In today’s market, there are many systems, applications developed and designed based on the same architecture and standards. Therefore, you can integrate them easily. Integrating usually means combining or uniting to create a bigger model to broadly function. You will link the HR Systems as you integrate the two systems or applications. You will be able to support any business processes outside the HR as the payroll, time and attendance, and also health and safety.
If you are using SAP SuccessFactors, you can definitely integrate with other systems such as SAP ERP Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, and another fragment of SAP ERP, etc. And if you are planning to integrate your SuccessFactors with other systems, you need to go through some top factors given below. This will give you an insight on the result of integration and how it will be helpful to your business.
  1. Understand SAP SuccessFactors
You need to make your organization understand about SAP SuccessFactors. This is an important step to understand the system first and its use and benefits. You need to understand a concept in order to get an overall knowledge. The organization must understand its functionalities. You can integrate with other systems only after getting the right information on the required system that is to be integrated. Integration will be easy as it is built on the same architecture or foundation. The data created in both systems will be transferred as they integrate. But if the employee data is already loaded, there is of the data to be transferred between the SAP SuccessFactors and SAP HCM.
  1. Decision on Data
You must be sure about the data that needs to be stored and shared.  This must be discussed thoroughly before sharing or storing the data. This is also an important step when it comes to the HR and talent analytics solutions (SAP SuccessFactors Workforce). You also need to discuss on SAP HCM whether it should be replaced by Employee Central. The choices you and your team makes will affect the organization and what it needs to design and build.
  1. Design a Long-term SuccessFactors
You need to design a long-term strategy and plan for the success of SAP SuccessFactors, by creating a landscape architecture. This will help you understand the level of integration that may need to be built in the future. Companies aren’t required to invest in complex integration during a short-term period. They don’t even have to buy any an integration license. You can easily move the pieces to the cloud for a long-term efficiency.   This would reduce the complexity and also the cost of integration. You need to understand which piece to switch on, in the HR system from the SAP ERP HCM to Employee Central. You also need to understand the integrated systems with the Employee Central will influence the selection of your selected platform.
  1. Choose the Middleware Technology
You need to choose the best middleware technology options among its types. Each one has their own merits and demerits. And it all depends on which SuccessFactors applications you choose to integrate. SAP has two integration technologies that can be used with their Talent Hybrid iFlows: SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (PI), SAP HANA Cloud Integration (HCI). SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (PI) is included in the base NetWeaver license. And this only needs the cost of implementing PI.  HCI will cost you 7.5% SuccessFactors subscription.
The Dell Boomi AtomSphere middleware platform comes together with the Employee Central subscription. SAP will be offering predefined Employee Central integration content on SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (PI), SAP HANA Cloud Integration (HCI) that is currently offering Boomi. PI cannot be integrated into Employee Central when there is a presence of a third party cloud application. But HCL can be integrated with Employee Central subscription at some point.
  1. SAP And Its Roadmap
The SAP is built with a long-term roadmap for hybrid and Employee Central Integration. It is currently being involved to include additional content. SAP covers core process integration and saves a considerable amount of time on building and maintaining customer integration. You need to understand SAP planning and its integration methods. You will then understand its features and functions, and this makes the right decision. After the integration between SAP SuccessFactors and SAP HCM, the data is transferred. And this transfer of data is hard and is complex. This is important in HRIS and ERP landscape. You need to discuss and make important decisions when planning for designing and implementing the data. When you plan a long-term cloud, you will understand the way to approach integration and it will save you time, money, and your effort.
